AFSS Race Rules

TRD Canicross Club Rule Variation

AFSS rule 79.2 The driver shall not pace the dog by running ahead of the dog, or force the dog to run in any way.

Dryland mushing clubs usually run their canicross courses on the same trails as the wheeled events, wide and reasonably flat fire trails. As we are a canicross only club, we race on various trails, including a lot of single tracks where there may be sections of steep, slippery, rocky, loose surfaces, obstacles (natural or man-made), water crossing etc. For the safety of the driver and/or the dog, the dog may be put in a position beside or behind the driver until that section has been passed.

Please note that even during these sections there should be no forcing or pulling the dog to move forward in any way
