Strickland Stinger 1

Held in the Strickland State Forest on the Ridge to Rainforest trail. The 'Strain' course is approximately 4km and the 'Struggle'course is approximately 8km, both starting and finishing at the Banksia Picnic area (top car park). All run on single-track trail. It's a roller coaster run that takes you on a journey from the bush down to the rainforest, and back up to the bush. There is plenty of elevation. Entrants will have a "seeded" staggered start at 30 seconds. To help us out, please advise us of an estimated completion time. Do we have your interest?
There is plenty of parking available.
Held in the Strickland State Forest on various trails. The course starts and finishes in the 'Banksia' or 'top' car park on Strickland Rd, which is about 1.3km from the entry to the forest at Mangrove Rd.

Strickland Stinger - Strain

The course starts at the Banksia Picnic area (top car park) It's an approximate 1.5km run/hike down the hill before making the 2.5 km uphill run back home. It's a roller coaster run that keeps you alert taking you on a journey from the aussie bush down into rainforest and then back up to the bush again.
Strickland Stinger - Struggle
It's an approximately 9 km course that starts and finishes in the 'Banksia' or 'top' car park.
Held in the Strickland State Forest on various trails (almost every one), finishing up the Ridge to Rainforest trail. The course starts at the Banksia Picnic area (top car park). It's an approximate 1.5km run/hike down the hill before crossing the creek and touring around the Arboretum,including going over the swing bridge (or through the creek below). You then make your way back to the bottom car park before making the 2.5 km uphill run on the Ridge to Rainforest trail, then it's back on the road out to the forest entry and back home. It's a roller coaster run that keeps you alert taking you on a journey from the aussie bush down into rainforest and then back up to the bush again.

What should I bring?
Dog - Well, we guess you could run without one, but it wouldn't be as fun.
A copy of your dogs Vaccination certificate or Titre test (unless previously supplied to the club)
Water - Enough for you and your dog
Canicross gear - Harness, bungee leash, belt
Poo bags - be responsible
A sense of fun and excitement (really easy as we'll be around happy dogs)
Other stuff
Please keep your dogs on leash at ALL times.
Respect other humans and their dogs, and ask first before approaching as we may have reactive dogs attending that need a little space.
Please use the rubbish bags provided or take your rubbish home. We intend to leave no trace..... respect the forest.
This is an AFSS-sanctioned race, please make sure you are familiar with their rules.
Whilst this is classed as a race, the sport is about participation, comradery, you and your dog having fun, meeting new friends etc. If you see someone in trouble ask if they are OK and assist if required.
There are toilets on site at the Bansia car park.

For those that don't have cani gear you will have an opportunity to have a trial run/hike around the course after the last competitor finishes. Please note that this is not sanctioned by the club and 100% at your own risk.
